Online Dating Profile Picture Tips – A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words
Do you think that the picture you use for you online dating profile picture is meaningless? Well think again. It matters. It actually matters quite a lot. Never forget that a picture is worth a thousand words.
Bad Idea
Think you can use an online dating profile picture that is out of date? Maybe one where you are 30 pounds lighter or before the Grey hair and wrinkles. Think again. All you will do is waste your time. You may very well get more up front interest, but eventually you will have to meet the other person. A Picture that is a little dated may be forgiven. 5 -10 extra pounds or a few years might slip and not be cared about. But really it is lying. Not a great way to start a solid relationship. Think how you would react if you expected to see a Kim Kardashian look alike and Betty White showed up at your door. Nothing against Betty White, she is a cool chick, but a little out of my age range personally.
Look your best though
Honesty is important for success. But not so much honestly that you take a picture in your Pajamas looking wasted. Try to get a good quality picture. It should highlight your best qualities and really make you look, “your best.”
Don’t look tense.
Just like when you meet in real life looking calm and collected is important to attraction. Make sure you seem relaxed and full of confidence. A nervous looking profile picture is not very attractive. Hold your hands at your side and think comfortable thoughts.
Fix minor errors like Red Eye
There are so many paint programs now. It is not hard to go in and tweak a picture a little to make it nicer. Go ahead and erase a blemish or two. Get rid of and red eye or other low quality picture issues. Think of it as airbrushing. Even the beautiful women on the magazine covers need a little work to really shine for their pictures. Take the effort to make the picture that little bit better.
Don’t give fake smiles.
Personally I like people that smile in pictures. But telling a forced and fake smile and laugh from a real one is pretty easy. Make sure you are relaxed and the smile is genuine and engaging. If it looks forced either pick another one or take pictures until you get one that is natural.
